About Anthony
Edward Anthony (formerly Josephine Relli) is an American recording artist, actor, and activist who’s graced the red carpet of the music industry’s most renowned award ceremony, the Grammys, and captured the attention of such media outlets as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Glamour.
Born in Spokane, Washington, Edward and his family relocated to Minnesota during his childhood and later to Portland, OR. Edward's early teenage years marked the start of a deep exploration into music. Homeschooled for much of his high-school years, the budding artist took the opportunity to focus on his passion and delve into the inner workings of the music industry.
Edward's musical inspiration is deeply rooted in the classics, drawing influence from iconic figures like Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sam Cooke, and Jackie Wilson, earning him the reputation of being an "old soul." But he also finds inspiration in contemporary artists like Sam Smith and Taylor Swift, both musically and in terms of their business acumen.
In 2016, Edward collaborated with producer Joseph Konty on his debut album, "Miscellaneous," penned and performed while presenting as a female, showcasing his exploration of various musical styles and genres. The project marked a period of experimentation and growth in his career. Over time, Edward evolved as an artist taking on songwriter and producer roles as he fine-tuned his unique sound, all the while intentionally avoiding the confines of a single genre. And in 2022, in an effort to fully embrace his true identity, he officially transitioned.
Edward is currently working on an upcoming album titled "Them." The project, poised to be unlike anything he’s previously released, will feature a collection of duets with his former self, serving to seamlessly realize the manifested changes in both his life and music, and further exemplifying his commitment to artistic evolution and true self-expression.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Edward is a staunch supporter of philanthropic causes including LGBTQ+ rights, animal adoption and rescue, and breast cancer research.
